Our Cosmetic Standards
At Viridian Furniture, we're dedicated to crafting unique pieces of solid hardwood furniture, and we take pride in the unique characteristics of each one. Since every piece is a handcrafted original, natural variations in the wood are to be expected and celebrated. Much like every tree is unique, each piece of our furniture has its own distinct grain patterns, color variations, and knots. This means that your item may not appear exactly like the images shown online.
The one-of-a-kind nature of our solid wood furniture is what makes it so special. You might notice features like knots, small holes, or cracks. We fill all knots and holes with epoxy. Any cracks in the product are also filled with epoxy and stabilized with bowties (on the underside of the piece) to prevent them from expanding. Other unique characteristics can include, but are not limited to, distress marks, exposed hardware, wood filler, joint lines, and other minor imperfections. Please note that due to the handcrafted nature of our products, all measurements may have a variation of up to 1 inch.
Solid wood is also sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity, which can cause it to naturally expand and contract. This is a common and normal characteristic of solid hardwood and doesn't affect the structural integrity of your furniture, so it is not considered a defect.
We do our best to provide accurate product photos on our website, but since every piece is unique, no two items will be exactly alike. The appearance of colors can also vary depending on your monitor's display. We highly recommend ordering a wood sample to get a better sense of the finish and potential characteristics of the wood. Keep in mind that a sample is a small section and won't show all the unique qualities of your final piece. If you have specific requests regarding color or other natural characteristics, please contact us before placing your order so we can do our best to accommodate you. If you don't contact us before you place your order, we can't guarantee that special requests will be fulfilled.
Storage
We are unable to hold an order once production has begun. If you have a specific date you need your item by, please let us know when you place your order. We'll do our best to meet that date, but we can't make any guarantees. If you are unable to accept delivery within the timeframe set by the delivery agent, you will be responsible for any storage fees that accrue. It is your responsibility to make these arrangements with the delivery agent.
If your order includes multiple items with different production times, we'll ship each item as it's completed. We will not hold one part of an order to ship it with another part later. For example, if you order a dining table and chairs, and the chairs have a longer lead time, we will ship the table once it's finished and the chairs will be shipped separately when they are ready.
Warranty Coverage
We offer a one-year warranty on our craftsmanship and materials, effective from the date of delivery. If you believe your item has a defect, please contact us with photos of the product so our team can assess the issue. We cannot process any claims without photos. This warranty does not cover items with variations that are noted in our "Cosmetic Standards" section above. If a warranty claim is found to be valid, we will provide a suitable replacement or a refund.
Care Requirements & Exclusions
This warranty is valid only when the piece is used for its intended purpose and cared for according to our guidelines. This includes maintaining indoor humidity between 30% and 40% year-round to prevent natural expansion and contraction of the wood. You may need a humidifier, especially in winter or dry climates. Our warranty does not cover cracks, warping over .25 inches, or other movement caused by improper humidity control, misuse, or abnormal wear. Normal wear and tear like small dents or scratches are also not covered, but we are happy to offer advice on touch-ups.
Returns
You may return standard, non-custom items for a refund of the purchase price, minus a 20% restocking fee. To initiate a return, you must contact us at viridianfurniture@gmail.com or your sales representative within 48 hours of receiving your product. You will be given a return authorization number to include with your return. You are responsible for all return shipping costs. The product must be returned to Viridian Furniture within 30 days of delivery to receive a refund.
Custom Orders
All customized furniture is non-returnable. If you cancel a custom order after we have started working on it, you will be charged for all labor, materials, and design time already completed. A custom order is any product or variation not available for direct purchase on our website without consulting with a sales representative. This includes, but is not limited to, custom designs, custom sizing, custom legs, custom edge profiles, custom finishes, etc.
Order Cancellation
Orders canceled within 48 hours of purchase will receive a 100% refund. After 48 hours, cancellation fees will apply based on the product's production lead time.
Order Abandonment
If a customer doesn't respond to either the delivery agent or Viridian Furniture within 45 days of their order arriving at the local delivery agent, we reserve the right to donate, dispose of, or otherwise discard the item. No refunds or compensation will be provided for abandoned pieces.
